About Us

Shelving Wellington has been in operation in one form or another for 23 years and over that time we have developed and refined techniques and “know how” to cope with any magnitude of shelving installation.

From a single bay for storing files in a cupboard to large movable archival storage of 50,000 shelves and more, we have designed specialised trolleys, jigs and lifting equipment to enable projects of any scale to be carried out efficiently and with minimal impact on surrounding personnel and infrastructure.

We have been involved in projects for most government departments, and have security clearance to carry out work in some of the most secure sites in New Zealand. Projects have included libraries at public, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, shelving fitouts for some of the leading names in retailing, and large installations of staff lockers for major food processing plants, transport companies and commodity distribution facilities.

Our first major job was the relocation of a storage facility for Te Papa in 2000 and since then we have done over 4000 installations.

While most of our work is carried out in the greater Wellington region, we have undertaken projects from Auckland to Invercargill - travel is not a problem.

Shelving Wellington has been the preferred supplier of installation and maintenance for the National Library of New Zealand and Archives New Zealand since 2013 and Victoria University since 2010.

We have secured the contract to install the shelving in the new Archives' building presently under construction. This project is scheduled to take 2 years and involves possibly the most seismic resilient mobile shelving system in the world, developed locally by Precision Ltd.

The scale of this work will not prevent us providing “service as usual” to local clients.
